About me

Hi, my name is David Haynes!
I am an in 1994 born, German-American Game Designer from Frankfurt am Main, Germany. I moved to California a few years ago to pursue my dreams of being part of creating emotion evoking experiences in the world’s most famous studios!

I attended the Games Academy in Frankfurt am Main, in Germany, where I earned a Game Design Diploma while developing multiple games in small student teams.
Right out of school, I joined Deck 13 as a Quality Assurance Tester for their sci-fi souls-like “The Surge” and indie games published through Deck 13 Spotlight.

I then moved to the San Francisco area to work as a Game Designer on a VR version of Galaga for Bandai Namco’s VR arcade in Japan. Over several months we worked closely with the team from Japan, to utilize their gun and floor vibration hardware to bring “Galaga Fever VR” to life.

In 2019, I joined Naughty Dog as a Quality Assurance Tester and Development Support for The Last Of Us Part II (and later UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection), where I was responsible for the quality of multiple levels throughout the game and the German localization of all VO, subtitles and menus.
Most recently, I worked on an Unannounced Project at Naughty Dog.
